Odyssey is the post-rock project of Sandy Lavallart, who takes listeners on a breathtaking musical adventure to the four corners of the world—making the album's title feel entirely earned. It is a record of incredible composition, stretching from the deeply moving "White Angels" to the intimate quiet of "Youth."

Odyssey sweeps you across the vastness of the ocean ("King of Sea," "Fisherman"), out into the infinite expanse of the Milky Way ("White Angels," "Blackstar"), and through the nostalgic weight of life itself. The performance and vocals are sublime; Lavallart’s warm voice grabs you from the very first moment and refuses to let go.

Drawing inspiration from bands like Pink Floyd, Archive, Arcade Fire, Mogwai, and Radiohead, Lavallart crafts a sound that feels entirely his own. The tracklist ranges from subtle to explosive, rich and emotionally resonant, without a single weak link. The 9-minute epic "Nestadio" even lands like the soundtrack to an interplanetary film.

This is one of those rare albums that gets better with every listen—the kind that leaves you feeling a bit nostalgic when it ends. Luckily, you can always just press play again.
